I began my martial arts career as an adult . I had no real background with martial arts. My children first started at Dragon Gym in the Tae Kwon Do program. I was a working mom with a husband that traveled a lot so time for me was scarce. I first started in the kettlebell program at Dragon Gym but shortly after I was taking my first steps on the mat. It was great exercise and the best part was not taking time away from the family because they were training alongside. I started in BJJ alongside my youngest two children. I instantly fell in love . Soon I was training 8-9 times per week. I received my black belt as the first ever “homegrown” and first female DG black belt.
In additional to martial arts I have 4 children , 3 crazy dogs and have a podiatry practice in the community.
My journey shows that you can balance family, work and fitness. Often, adults and especially women/mothers put fitness and health last. I want to show people how it can be achieved.
