  • How do I get started? / How do I get my child started?

All of our students start the same way, with a free, no obligation trial lesson and then our Quick Start Program. It’s great for beginners with no prior experience. The quick start course includes both private and group instruction, so that new students can try out the program in a suitable environment. One of the great things about this program is that it gives us a chance to evaluate your progress and abilities while giving you the opportunity to observe classes, see the facility, meet the instructors, and learn about the benefits of martial arts and kettlebells. Fill out the form on this page to contact us today about getting started and schedule that first lesson. Every journey starts with a single step…TAKE THAT STEP!

  • It seems as though everyone who trains in kickboxing is really young. Am I too old?

No way! Our classes have a range of age groups. We teach teenagers, students in their 60s, and everyone in between. We can do this only because our program is technique and curriculum-based, enabling us to tailor drills and workouts to your individual needs.

  • How many women train at Dragon Gym?

Actually, a lot! Our classes have just about a 50-50 male to female student ratio.

  • Will you help me with my nutritional habits?

Absolutely. Nutrition is a vital component for weight loss, and we'll pass along the powerful knowledge we've put together over the years. By the way, our nutrition programs are all about naturally improving your diet—not forcing foods on you that you don't like or starving yourself.

  • I see that you have some awesome events coming up. Can I tag along?

Of course you can. The majority of our events are open to our current and prospective students. It’s important to us that you get to know us—all of us!—better! If you have questions about a specific event, please let us know.

  • I have a past injury/medical condition. Do I need to inform my instructor?

Yes please! Informing your instructors allows them to make sure your training is optimized for health and safety. And we are always more than happy to help show you variations in exercises, or things you can do at home to help with your injury/medical condition.

  • I don’t know anyone—what should I do?

Our students are one big, crazy family. And we are always more than excited to add new people to our crew! If you come in and it’s your first class, don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to anyone you see—whether we’re behind the front desk or out on the mats. And if you’re in search of a training buddy, be sure to let us know. We’re pretty good at training buddy matchmaking.

  • Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely! We’ve found that beginners who start with a friend tend to get better results, learn more, and have more fun! All of our students start the same way with our free orientation, which we are more than happy to do with individuals or with a few friends who would like to get started together.
