Does your child or children know?
- Your full name
- Your phone number
- Their DOB
- Home address
- Siblings age, weight, DOB
- Do they have responsible access to a cell phone, and if so can they contact you?
- How to tell a brief yet useful narrative in the event they need to relay critical details to a first responder
- Most importantly how to stay calm under duress?
Be honest.
I met a young man today that had all these details down cold. This little man, at the ripe old age of 7 was cool and calm yet fully concerned for a siblings fate and was able to provide these details to those that needed to aid the situation. It blew me away, and got me thinking about my own kids. If your little ones don’t know this vital information by heart, now is the time.
While this isn’t exactly self defense, it actually kind of is.
